MIAMI, Fla.– LAN Cargo has appointed Cristian Ureta as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Ureta, most recently the company’s Chief Operating Officer, has been instrumental to LAN Cargo’s profitable development and network expansion in recent years, as well as the acquisition of new aircrafts, says the company.

“Our goals for 2006 and beyond include surpassing a billion dollars in sales and consolidating the European market, as well as developing the Asia-Latin America markets by increasing our interline agreements with Asian carriers and the possibility of introducing our own operations to the region,” says Ureta.

“We’ll also take delivery of another Boeing 767-freighter in October, and as always, we’ll continue to focus efforts on providing the highest quality service and surpassing our customers’ needs.”

Ureta began his career in the aviation industry as a cargo services manager for Fast Air Carrier, S.A. in Santiago, Chile, followed by subsequent promotions to various managerial positions at Aerotransportes MAS de Carga S.A. de C.V. in Mexico City.

He earned a degree in civil engineering from the Universidad Catolica de Chile in Santiago, Chile and also participated in the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University, CA.
