Lykes Lines commits to real-time sailing schedule updates on Website

Lykes Lines is now updating its sailing schedules on its website constantly throughout the day.

“The sailing schedules on the website are generated from the same data that our operations department uses to track our ships, so they are very accurate," says Tony Bruno, Vice President Commercial. "Although we try to avoid schedule changes, sometimes they are inevitable due to severe weather or port congestion, for instance. “Now our customers will know if there are any changes and can inform their own customers if needed. Just as importantly, they can be reassured that a ship has arrived and departed according to the schedule.”

The Lykes Lines website already allows shippers to print bills of lading on-line and track their containers, as well as check the customs clearance status of cargo.

Lykes Lines has also recently added customs clearance and cargo insurance to the range of services it offers its customers.
