Lykes Lines extends online Bill of Lading to Mexico and Europe

Lykes Lines has extended its on-line Bills of Lading facility to customers in North Europe, the Mediterranean and Mexico.

By accessing the ‘BL Printing’ button on the www.lykeslines.com website, exporters can print Bills of Lading in their own offices. This is possible via a new document exchange system. There is a demonstration provided on the Website for new users.

The on-line Bills of Lading option has been available to US customers since the beginning of the year and it has proved so successful that it has now been made available to other customers around the world, the company says.

“It will be further extended to our customers in Africa, Asia and Central and South America in the next few months,” says Tony Bruno, Vice President Commercial.

Other on-line services include container tracking, Instant Rate and Pricing Information for U.S.-related traffic, with on-line rate requests available for other traffic. Customers with U.S.-inbound cargo can check the customs clearance status of their shipment before it arrives. Users are also able to make Shippers Export Declaration transmissions through the link Lykes Lines has to the Automated Export System, AES Direct.
