Lykes Lines upgrades north-south US east coast service
Lykes Lines has added ports of call, cut transit times and increased frequency on its US east coast east coast South America service.
The upgrade to weekly service, operated over two loops, has been achieved through renogiation of a vessel sharing agreement, with replacement of existing tonnage and revised schedules.
This allows Lykes Lines to offer new calls at the ports of Baltimore, Jacksonville, Freeport (Bahamas), Fortaleza and Salvador on this service. Transit times have been significantly reduced, including Miami to Santos cut from 14 days to 10 days and Rio de Janeiro to New York cut from 15 days to 11 days.
The new service also doubles the number of sailings between Santos and New York, Charleston, Jacksonville and Miami from one to twice a week.
