M-O acquires On Ice (Canada) Inc.

BRAMPTON, Ont — Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines Limited has acquired On Ice (Canada) Inc. On Ice (Canada) Inc., a transportation company specializing in temperature controlled small drop deliveries.

In 2004, M-O purchased half of On Ice (Canada) Inc.’s shares and now has purchased the remaining shares.

On Ice (Canada) Inc. offers service to customers with temperature sensitive products such as; pharmaceuticals, biologics, paints, inks, cryogenics, food, food ingredients, specialty compounds and other regulated products. These customers are increasingly seeking a cost-effective means of shipping small drop, temperature-sensitive goods direct to retail stores and business customers.

“This acquisition is consistent with our long-term strategy to acquire businesses that meet emerging market needs,” said Doug Munro, president of M-O.

On Ice (Canada) Inc., based in Mississauga, ON, is currently providing small drop temperature controlled delivery services in Toronto (ON), Halifax (NS), Saint John (NB), Moncton (NB), Charlottetown (PEI), Ottawa (ON) and Montreal (QC). On Ice (Canada) Inc. has a fleet of customized vehicles that provide a full range of climate control designed to provide small drop temperature controlled deliveries. Each vehicle is equipped with a validated data system to meet the needs of temperature sensitive shippers.

M-Ohas moved the Toronto operations of On Ice (Canada) Inc. to M-O ParcelWorks’ facility at 1740 Aimco Blvd.,
Mississauga. On Ice (Canada) Inc. is currently operating under the direction of Mr. Ed Skrobal, General Manager of M-O ParcelWorks.
