Manfredi Motor Transit Company, an Ohio-headquartered liquid bulk carrier, has formed Distribution Technologies, Inc. (DisTech), a separate corporation charged with expanding the organization’s supply chain management capabilities.
DisTech will be based in Cleveland.
“By creating DisTech, we feel that we can more aggressively grow our portfolio of products and services in response to customer demand for more inclusive logistics solutions,” said Rich Manfredi, who will remain Chief Executive Officer of Manfredi Motor Transit. He will also assume the role of CEO for DisTech. “We will build upon our expertise in contract trucking, warehousing and distribution services to offer a complete supply chain management solution.”
The new DisTech portfolio includes the companies that formerly comprised the Specialty Operating Group of Manfredi Motor Transit: Dedicated Transport, a contract carrier specializing in value-added local and over-the-road trucking services; Manfredi Logistics Solutions, a specialty bulk delivery service; and Manfredi Special
Services, an intermediate bulk container (IBC) tote cleaning and
Frank Wagner, who has been President of Dedicated Transport since its inception in 1988, will lead DisTech as President and Chief Operating Officer. A 36-year veteran of the transportation industry,Wagner has been involved in all aspects of transportation and logistics operations, sales and product development. Prior to starting Dedicated Transport, he held several positions with Leaseway Transportation during his 23-year tenure with the carrier, including Vice President of Operations for the Midwest region.
