Melford International Terminal hires combination chief financial/operating officer

CANSO, N.S. — Melford International Terminal (MITI) has appointed Mike Uberoi as its chief financial/operating officer. Uberoi brings extensive container terminal sector experience to MITI, having previously held senior positions with a container terminal operation in Halifax, N.S.

Uberoi has held leadership positions with privately-owned organizations in the industrial supplies and service industries. He has also served as CFO of a publicly traded income trust.

“We are extremely pleased to have someone with Mike’s broad background and ability join our growing team,” said MITI chairman Hugh B. Lynch. “He is well respected in the container terminal industry, knows the key players and has extensive experience in the aspects of terminal operations relative to the development of the Melford project. In his new position he will be responsible for Melford operational matters.”

His role will also include providing strategic financial direction and oversight for the Melford project.

Uberoi is a member in good standing of the Certified Management Accountants. He is a director of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce, where he regularly contributes to key committees. He is also active with a number of volunteer organizations in the Halifax area.
