by Canadian Shipper

NYK Line has announced that United Warehouse and Distribution Corp. has established new operations facilities in the US northwest.

The largest facility, located in Auburn, WA, comprises more than 50,000 square metres of warehouse and trailer yard. The second facility, situated just three kilometers from the T-6 container terminal at the Port of Portland, covers 24,000 square metres.

Strategically located near the gateway ports of Seattle, Tacoma and Portland, these two facilities are expected to serve as important logistical infrastructures for the company’s trans-loading and distribution services for the entire Pacific northwest region.

Ken Hirayama, Chairman of NYK Line (North America) Inc., said that this new business venture would contribute substantially towards providing supply chain and integrated solutions to NYK customers beyond simple transportation

NYK Group’s New Millennium Declaration, released by the company last year, calls on the company to move towards supporting its client with a total logistics package.
