Oceanwide Inc. has acquired Micro Software Services Inc. (MSSI), commonly known as Editrade, making Oceanwide the largest private North American based provider of logistics software solutions to freight intermediaries, says the company.
The combined company has 125 employees, including a 60 person development staff. Operating as Oceanwide Inc. with offices in Montreal, Miami and Antwerp, the company will serve an existing customer base of over 1000 Freight Forwarders, Customs Brokers, importers, and container freight stations as well as many of the world’s leading Cargo Insurance Brokers and Underwriters.
“This acquisition helps position Oceanwide to meet our customer requirements for an integrated, full-featured freight management and compliance solution that can easily exchange data with their customers, suppliers and government regulatory agencies,” stated Mitchell Wasserman, President and CEO of Oceanwide.
Clients of both companies will also benefit from merged customer support centers that will enable Oceanwide to provide 24 hour support for its clients throughout the world.
Both MSSI and Oceanwide have built flexible, fully-hosted ASP applications that can be easily accessed using any Internet browser and are easily integrated with back office systems and complimentary web services.
“Our two companies combine complementary product offerings, strong technical skills and deep industry knowledge. Together, we offer a compelling value proposition for global companies that are challenged to improve their logistics and compliance operations,” stated Victor Steeb, President of MSSI.
