OD Household Services launches new app for moving customers

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — OD Household Services has released a new mobile app that allows moving customers to follow their shipments and connect with the company.

The new app, “ODMove,” which launched yesterday for smartphones using the Android platform, allows customers to log into their online accounts, inquire about moving estimates, track movements and read moving advice.

OD Household Services – launched in January 2012 by Old Dominion Freight Line – is an alternative to traditional and do-it-yourself moving services, as consumers only pay for the truck space that they use and OD does the driving for them.

“Our goal in creating this app is to replicate the ease and simplicity of our regular Web site. Customers can book moves, trace their items and find out tips and tricks that will be helpful during the moving process,” said Chris Young, vice-president, OD-Technology. “Moving is stressful, but worrying about finding information or tracking a shipment shouldn’t be. Like OD Household Services, we know this app will help ease some of the apprehension associated with moving.”

The app is available for download through Google Play. An identical app for the iPhone and the iPad is expected to launch later this year, according to the company.
