Bill Strong has been elected as the new Chair for the Ontario Safety League Board of Directors.
Bill Strong is the Director of Logistics at the Beer Store and has been working in the distribution/transportation industry for over 20 years. Strong has served as a director on the League board for three years and is well acquainted with road safety issues. "285 trucks leave The Beer Store every day. We train our drivers to place safety at the forefront of their jobs every day and that same approach can be taken with the driving public," says Strong.
"Actions have consequences. The League strives to raise awareness among the driving public about the consequences of poor driving habits and educates motorists about which actions to take to ensure their safety and the safety of all road users."
The Ontario Safety League has been working towards safety though education since 1913. The non-profit organization is mandated to use public awareness and safety education to reduce preventable death, injury and destruction on Ontario roadways.
President and General Manager of the OSL, Bert Killian, looks forward to working closely with Strong over his two year term as Chair. "Bill’s management and transportation experience make him a natural leader for the Ontario Safety League. His expertise will allow the League to effectively meet our goal of road safety for all Ontario road users."
