OOCL France next step forward in global plan for shipper
Orient Overseas Container Line’s (OOCL) has a new addition to its fleet with the OOCL France, a post-panamax 5,500 TEU vessel that has been christened in Shanghai by French Consulate representative Isabelle Fernandez.
The OOCL France was built by Samsung Heavy Industries and was designed for a service speed of 25 knots. The container vessel was ordered by OOCL under a long-term charter agreement with Hamburg-based company Nordcapital GmbH.
The new vessel currently calls weekly in a loop at the ports of Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Hong Kong and Singapore in Asia, as well as Southampton, Hamburg and Rotterdam in Europe.
