Panalpina boosts US network
Panalpina has added four new branches to its US network, bringing the total to 44. New branches in Columbus, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana, Panalpina will be offering a full range of supply chain management services to manufacturers in the Midwest, reports Schednet.com.
Ohio has one of the country’s highest concentrations of Fortune 500 companies and is a preferred location for chemical, engineering, high-tech, communications and automotive firms.
Panalpina’s new base in Philadelphia will concentrate on air freight shipments for the engineering, chemical, electronics and automotive industries, increasing its share of the intercontinental air freight market in the Northeast.
With 60 per cent of the US population within 800 kilometers, Panalpina Columbus will also be providing distribution solutions for the consumer goods and retail sectors. At both locations, Panalpina will be offering its entire range of air freight and sea freight services for intercontinental exports and imports.
An Orlando, Florida location will help Panalpina beef up its air freight and ocean freight offering in the region. The main focus will be on shipments to and from destinations in Europe, the Far East and Latin America, which are handled through Panalpina’s Miami hub.
“By expanding our branch network in the US, we are able to offer our clients an even more effective infrastructure,” said Robert Frei, Panalpina’s chief operating officer for the western hemisphere.
