The South African Bidvest subsidiaries Safcor Panalpina and Renfreight are merging and will exist beneath the Safcor Panalplina designation. This amalgamation will see a strengthening of Panalpina’s presence in South Africa.
Renfreight’s employees, operations and assets have all been integrated into Safcor Panalpina, and over the next while their business locations will also be assimilated.
However, the terms of employment for the staff will remain unchanged. As a result of the merger, Panalpina, which works together with both firms, will be able to offer South African customers its full range of services from a single source.
Safcor Panalpina, founded in 1912, is one of South Africa’s largest customs agents. Safcor has been working closely with the Panalpina Group since 1973 and has operated under the name Safcor Panalpina for more than a year. Renfreight has been an official agent of the Panalpina Group since March 2001.
