Port of Marseille blocked for strike activity
The Port of Marseille in the south of France has remained blocked to all commercial traffic for over ten days as striking dock workers maintained their blockade, reported Agence-France-Presse.
Demonstrators were said to have barred access to all terminals except the passenger hub.
Around 30 oil, gas and chemical tankers have been stuck outside the port since November 19, unable to unload.
Two oil terminals at the port, Fos-sur-Mer and Lavera, have apparently been paralyzed since November 14, with refineries supplied via the port forced to reduce output, industry representatives said.
