Schenker-Seino Logistics, a joint venture between German company Schenker AG and Japanese company Seino Transportation Co. Ltd, has opened a new logistics centre, located near the New Tokyo International Airport. The company says that a wide rage of integrated logistics services will be provided from the new premises, spread out over 12,000 square metres on four floors.

The two joint venture companies will bank on the combination of Schenker’s international network and Seino’s presence in the domestic Japanese market for success, offering customised solutions ranging from supply chain management to value-added services while cutting costs and time requirements.

The Narita Logistics Center is equipped with a warehouse management system based on radio frequence technology. The facility has a temperature and humidity-controlled storage area for sensitive goods and areas for providing valued-added services such as inspection, labelling and assembly services. The new logistics centre also offers in-house customs clearance for air cargo.
