EDMONTON, Alta.–Grant MacEwan College has formed a partnership with the Logistics Institute that will allow Grant MacEwan students to get a free student membership from the Logistics Institute. This membership allows students to begin a “school-to-workforce” transition by accessing the Logistics CareerSite, an online resume service where they can maintain a skills portfolio and search for potential jobs in the supply chain sector.
“The Logistics Institute has chosen to partner with Grant MacEwan College based on their incredible heritage in Logistics and Supply Chain Management education,” said Logistics Institute President Victor S. Deyglio. “The proof of Grant MacEwan’s excellence is in the consistent, superior job placements and outstanding performance of its graduates.”
Plans are underway for a working arrangement between Grant MacEwan College and the Logistics Institute to incorporate a number of Grant MacEwan programs into a logistics career mobility framework. This framework was developed by the Logistics Institute as a skills/career development standard for the business community. Students will have a clearly defined pathway to earning the Professional Logistician (P.Log.) designation.
“We are where we are today by responding to the needs of our industry partners and making sure that our curriculum links academic theory to industry practice,” said Mark Arnison, Chair of the Supply Chain applied degree program at MacEwan. “We develop learning experiences that help our graduates hit the ground running. They know the business of supply chain management, and are passionate about it.”
