TMM Lines lays claim to fastest Europe – Mexico transit time

TMM Lines claims it will offer the fastest ocean transit times between Europe and Mexico from next month when it upgrades its Gulf-Europe Premier Loop 2 service.

The Tampa-based line will offer a direct service from Europe to Veracruz and Altamira that is two days faster than most of its competitors.

“It will be just 12 days from Le Havre to Veracruz, for example,” says Juan Manuel Gonzalez, Vice President, TMM Lines.

TMM Lines, part of the CP Ships group, launched its Premier services last October with five separate links across the North Atlantic – two between Europe and the US East Coast and three between Europe and the US Gulf / Mexico. ‘Premier’ is the name for TMM Lines’ premium services, characterised by frequent, reliable sailings and fast transit times between major markets.

The new fast transit time to Mexico will be launched on August 6, when the TMM Puebla sails from Antwerp. The full port rotation for Loop 2 of the Gulf-Europe Premier service is Antwerp, Thamesport, Bremerhaven, Le Havre, Veracruz, Altamira, Houston, Charleston, Antwerp.

In the last few months, the line has added Paranagua to its Gulf-Mexico-Americas Service and upgraded the service it runs along the West Coast of North America and Central and South America to weekly. It has also launched real-time sailing schedules on its website as well as the facility to print bills of lading.

TMM Lines operates shipping services between ports in Asia, Mexico, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Canada, the US West Coast, the US East Coast and US Gulf, North Europe and the Mediterranean.
