In time for the holiday season, UPS Canada is giving the country’s 10 million cell phone users wireless access to track their time sensitive shipments.
The move is part of a broad push by UPS to make it as easy for a customer to check the status of a shipment no matter where they are – at the mall, on vacation or at the company holiday party.
“Everyone’s busy during the holidays, and they don’t want to worry about whether their business packages or gifts for their families have arrived,” says UPS Canada Director of E-Commerce Wayne Bosch. “Now Canadians can check on their shipments anytime just by using their cell phones, regardless of where they are.”
According to the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association, millions of Canadians are using some form of wireless technology. UPS is responding to that trend by enabling Canadians to track packages with their cell phones.
UPS also ensured that its customers could track packages in their native languages -including traditional and simplified Chinese, Korean and Japanese, as well as French and English.
