UPS launches more around the world flights

UPS has launched three additional “around-the-world” flights to enhance service between Asia and Europe, says the company.

UPS currently operates nine weekly flights around the globe.. Each week, the aircraft departs the United States from its international air hub, WorldPort, in Louisville, Kentucky, and then flies to Cologne, Dubai and Taipei, arriving at UPS’s Intra-Asia hub in Clark, Philippines.

The aircraft then repeats the route in reverse from Asia to the United States with an additional stop in Mumbai.

David Abney, president of UPS International, said that these latest additional frequencies are in line with UPS’s continued expansion in Asia, and follow the US Department of Transportation’s recent tentative authorisation for UPS to significantly expand its air operations in China.
