UPS offers enhanced delivery management solution

UPS Logistics Group’s latest wireless transportation offering is Mobilecast version 5.0. with enhancements to increase delivery accuracy and boost driver productivity.

Mobilecast is a client/server-based wireless dispatch and delivery tool for managing customer-facing operations in real time. The solution bundles dispatch, tracking and delivery management software functionality with rugged handheld computers communicating over two-way wireless data networks.

In version 5.0,the addition of the tote or container scanning capability to the mobile computer increases delivery accuracy by allowing products to be checked at both loading and delivery. The application will alert incorrectly scanned items or items that may not have been scanned. Delivery variances can instantly accounted for indicating over/short/damaged quantities with specific reason codes.
