US Customs names new Acting Deputy Commissioner (April 14, 2004)

The United States Customs and Border Protection agency (CBP) has named Deborah Spero Acting Deputy Commissioner. She takes over the post from Douglas Browning.
CBP’s Commissioner Robert Bonner said Spero will also be the government agency’s Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for daily operations.
Ms Spero previously worked as the Director of the Transition Management Office and was also Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Strategic Trade (OST).
