Kuehne & Nagel’s wholly owned subsidiary, USCO Logistics, a North American provider of integrated supply chain solutions, now manages distribution of high-end golf shoes for the Tour Golf Group, Inc., an official licensee of the Callaway Golf Company, Carlsbad, Calif., and the manufacturer of Callaway Golf Footwear, launched in March.
Tour Golf Group, Lake Oswego, Ore., required a solution for distribution of its licensed Callaway Golf Footwear collections to sporting goods stores and high-end golf stores and pro shops on public and private golf courses across the United States and Canada. It selected USCO Logistics, in part, on a recommendation from the Callaway Golf Company, a current USCO customer. Both companies share many similar end customers.
The Callaway Golf Footwear collection is the product of an exclusive licensing agreement between the Callaway Golf Company and Tour Golf Group, Inc., which is responsible for the design and sale of the new footwear line. The collection includes multiple styles and price points in men’s and women’s shoes. Each shoe model is lightweight and designed with innovative moisture management and comfort technologies. The shoes also feature the proprietary Big Bertha Spike, an advanced alternative oversized asymmetrical golf spike developed especially for the Callaway Golf Footwear collection. USCO Logistics receives the shoes through a West Coast port, via container, at one of its Midwestern distribution facilities. It then stores and manages outbound transportation, including cross border distribution into Canada.
According to Kyle Weiner, President of Tour Golf Group, "As a new start-up company, we needed a strong logistics partner. USCO is one of our strategic partners supporting the successful launch of a new product collection. We value their expertise and look forward to growing our business together."
