USPS Confirm offers real time information

The United States Postal Service has introduced an improved program which it says allows businesses to track their incoming and outgoing mailings in near real time, increasing the efficiency of their corporate transactions and decrease the waiting and the uncertainty of the mail system.

Confirm can provide detailed information on pieces of mail so that businesses can synchronize their marketing activities, payments, orders and responses which in turn will speed up their daily dealings.

Mailers place an additional PLANET (postal alpha numeric encoding technique) code on their mail, which allows the tracking information to be processed while it is scanned through the USPS mail stream. The information can be downloaded to a personal computer or can be found on the Confirm website at www.planetcodes.com.

Confirm also offers a destination confirmation and an origin confirmation for quick, advance notification.
