Velocity Express Corporation has opened five new major facilities in the states of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
The new operations are located in Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio, Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky, and Indianapolis, Indiana and bring the total Velocity locations operated in North America to 151, from which over 6,000 vehicles support 9,000 routes daily.
Velocity said that the growth experienced in its customer base has fueled the need to open the additional facilities.
Previously, Velocity had announced the opening of new facilities in Las Vegas, NV, Woburn MA, Romulus, MI, Downey, CA, and Cleveland, OH, plus expansions of existing locations in five states.
“Our continued expansion resonates very loudly with our customers,” said Drew Kronick, Senior Vice President, Business Development. “Our ability to provide a platform that enables easy expansion across the country, by offering the same solution set to all customers, will continue to be a key differentiator for Velocity.”
“Velocity’s commitment to excellent service has been the cornerstone of our offering,” said Jeffrey T. Hendrickson, President and Chief Operating Officer. “We are now bringing that commitment and capability to more areas of the United States and Canada.”
