Virgin Atlantic Cargo launches web site

Virgin Atlantic Airways is launching its cargo website, www.virgin.com/cargo, which will provide customers with instant access to comprehensive information on the airline’s latest operational schedules, route and office network, fleet details and ULD equipment.

There will also be track and trace capability online. The site is specifically targeted at the freight forwarding and shipping industry and the track and trace facility was piloted in March 2000 after extensive consultation with cargo customers.

"This launch represents Phase One of our web site development. The next phase will encompass future interactive development including online quotations and bookings, plus the availability to view cargo space availability on individual flights," says John Lloyd, Virgin Atlantic’s director of cargo.
