Vision Transportation Systems launches new intermodal service
MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Vision Transportation Systems has launched a new intermodal service called Vision Intermodal. Officials say Vision Intermodal will offer 53’, 40’ and 20’ equipment and door-to-door service throughout North America. Headquartered in Mississauga, Ont., and with warehousing operations in Belleville, Ont., Vision Transportation currently operates in Canada, within the US (Vision USA, Inc.) and Mexico.
“Our initial focus will be on our current client base. Our customers are familiar with our current product offerings and we want to continue to be their only provider of choice by adding additional capacity to better serve their needs,” said Jason Georgie, vice-president of Vision Transportation. “Not only will we provide pricing strategies to make our customers more profitable, but we will also provide the flexibility of shifting easily between a purely truck movement and a truck-rail mixture, while continuing our customer centric service approach to daily operations.”
“The timing of this new division is in direct response to changing markets, and need for greater choices in effectively balancing cost, time in transit, and environmental stewardship,” said Kelly Winters, vice-president, intermodal and US operations for Vision. “Vision Transportation has forged a very strong position as a solutions leader and as a company whose customer responsiveness is unparalleled, so responding to our customers need for greater flexibility was just a must do for us.”
