African cargo carrier adds Toronto to its network

Royal Air Maroc Cargo has added Toronto to its international network, marking its second Canadian destination after Montreal. The new route, which launched in December, operates three times weekly, with flights departing Casablanca on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 4:45 p.m. local time and arriving at Toronto Pearson International Airport at 7:25 p.m.

The airline, Africa’s leading cargo carrier, says demand for the service has been high, with the inaugural flight selling out quickly. The route supports trade between Canada and Morocco, facilitating the transport of goods such as citrus fruits, processed foods and Moroccan crafts, while enabling the import of wheat and aircraft parts.

“Our Toronto connection strengthens the bond with our community abroad and enhances trade ties,” said M. Yassine Berrada, vice-president of cargo at Royal Air Maroc.

The Toronto service is part of the airline’s broader expansion into the Americas, which includes a new route to São Paulo. Both routes utilize Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which Royal Air Maroc says offer safety and reduced carbon emissions.

Royal Air Maroc Cargo plans to quadruple its fleet by 2037 as it continues expanding its global network.
