The Angelcare Group, offering baby and pet care products, is investing more than $20 million to build a 130,000-square-foot logistics and packaging centre in Milton, Ont.
The new facility, which includes the company’s first dedicated packaging operation for clumping cat litter, is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Angelcare’s Canadian manufacturing base and expand its North American supply chain.
“This strategic investment reflects our confidence in Canada as the cornerstone of Angelcare’s global operations,” said Rahul Sharda, CEO of Angelcare Group. “The new Packaging and Distribution Centre in Milton represents more than just an expansion of our footprint—it is a bold step forward in strengthening our supply chain, creating new opportunities for our people and ensuring we deliver the quality, service and innovation our customers expect.”
Located near major highways, the Port of Montreal and the proposed CN Rail Milton Logistics Hub, the centre will serve as Angelcare’s national warehouse and distribution hub. It will also produce the company’s Litter Genie® Light cat litter, made from natural Canadian bentonite clay and marketed as additive-free, 99 per cent dust-free and 20 per cent lighter than leading brands.
The facility will start with 15 full-time employees, with plans to double its workforce as production expands to meet U.S. and global demand. Its automated packaging line can produce 4.6 million boxes per year, with space to add two more lines as operations scale.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the Milton site is targeting BOMA BEST or LEED certification, featuring energy-efficient systems, waste-reduction initiatives and logistics planning aimed at lowering transportation emissions.
Angelcare says the centre will evolve into a full-fledged innovation hub, housing research and development, demonstration and training spaces to support product development and cross-functional innovation across its portfolio.
