DP World says its group chairman and chief executive officer, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, has resigned, effective immediately. The announcement comes following the announcement that bin Sulayem was named in the Jeffrey Epstein files.
The company said Essa Kazim has been appointed chairman of the board, while Yuvraj Narayan has been named group CEO.
Kazim currently serves as governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre and chairman of Borse Dubai. He has previously held senior leadership roles in several national institutions, the company said.
Narayan joined DP World in 2004 and has served as group chief financial officer since 2005. The company said he has led strategic initiatives supporting its global expansion and strengthening its integrated supply chain operations.
DP World said the leadership changes support its strategy for sustainable growth and its role in strengthening global supply chains and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global trade and logistics hub.
