WiseTech Global launches Ocean Freight Risk Outlook to give early view of capacity pressure

WiseTech Global has launched the Ocean Freight Risk Outlook, a free four‑week forecast designed to help shippers and freight forwarders see where ocean trade lanes may tighten before problems show up in bookings, capacity or pricing. The dashboard provides monthly directional risk scores and forecasts based on aggregated supply chain data and WiseTech analysis across the Asia–North America, Asia–Europe and Europe–North America trade lanes.

WiseTech says constant shifts driven by geopolitics, tariffs and natural disasters make historical data less reliable for planning. The new Outlook gives users a forward‑looking view of projected cargo demand versus available carrier capacity so they can anticipate pressure earlier.

The dashboard summarizes risk across capacity, service reliability, port performance, transit time signals and carrier performance. It shows where demand may exceed planned supply, where service reliability may affect lead times, and how carrier performance differs even on the same trade lane. WiseTech says these differences can influence booking outcomes and supply chain stability.

The four‑week outlook is a summary of more detailed information available to CargoWise Value Pack customers through the Market Intelligence and Analytics module, which provides an eight‑week view.
