RICHMOND, B.C. — Western Canada Express has opened a new warehouse facility in Richmond, B.C. to service the Port of Vancouver’s growing import, intermodal and ocean port warehousing needs. The new facility will operate under the name Portside Warehousing and Distribution.
“Commitment to expanding our services in Western Canada is a priority to our company. In the current economic climate, expanding our network and service offerings will position our companies for growth long term,” said Brett Poe, business development manager for Western Canada Express. “This new facility enables Portside Warehousing and Distribution to offer expanded service offerings at one of the busiest ports in North America.”
Company officials say Western Canada Express has also recently increased its eastbound LTL and TL capacity out of Vancouver to accommodate the increased volumes generated in the corridor and more specifically out of the Portside Warehousing and Distribution facility. The high security location is situated between all deep-sea container terminals with access to railcar and intermodal services.
