Air Canada Cargo wins outstanding community contribution leadership award at CIFFA

MONTREAL, Que.–Air Canada Cargo was awarded the Outstanding Community Contribution Leadership Award at the CIFFA Western Region Forwarders Choice Awards on Friday, September 26 in British Columbia.

“We were recognized for our employees supporting both our national corporate programs as well as undertaking local community initiatives. Our corporate programs included the Air Canada Foundation’s Breakfast Clubs of Canada, Pathways to Education, and Ride to Conquer Cancer initiatives, as well as support of amateur sports through our Commercial Services initiatives,” said Stephen Phillips, Regional Manager, Cargo Sales Western Canada.

“Last year during our Vancouver Customer Event, we organized a give-back program to the YWCA’s Crabtree Corner, which provides a range of programs and services to help the most marginalized women and families in one of the country’s poorest neighbourhoods – Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Some of the other local initiatives we were involved in included a food drive for the Food Bank of Greater Vancouver at Christmas, and helping out at a soup kitchen,” he added.

Earlier this year, Air Canada Cargo won the Innovation Award at CIFFA’s Central Region Forwarders Choice Awards for their Cargo mobile app, which allows forwarders to track their shipments, verify flight schedules and receive real-time Cargo Status notification updates on a variety of smartphones.
