In 1987, FedEx purchased its Canadian licensee, Cansica Inc., and established FedEx Express Canada, headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario. Two years later, another FedEx-first milestone was achieved when full domestic service was launched across the country. From its origins as a team of just under 400 employees located across Canada, FedEx Express Canada today employs nearly 14,000. Its operations are based out of 70 locations, supported by a domestic air fleet of 32 aircraft, and ground fleet of roughly 5,000 vehicles – including a large e-bike flee.
Trimble Transportation has announced the winners of its Ovation Awards: Master Fleet, Bison Transport, Ascend, Marvin, Billy Barnes Enterprises and The McCoy Group. Each of these companies were recognized for their innovative use of technology to optimize workflows and processes within their business.
Bison Transport used several Trimble Enterprise solutions to automate manual processes required to ensure compliance with government regulations and efficient border crossing. After launching an initiative to verify data cleanliness, Bison adopted the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and Advanced Commercial Information (ACI) systems submission process through TMW E-Manifest, as well as using driver, trailer and customer profiles in TMW Operations, ultimately allowing it to achieve an average success rate of 89 percent automation of processes for clearing loads at the border.
Tompkins Solutions has been named a top integrator partner by Wynright Corporation, a Daifuku group company. Now in its 23rd year, the annual award recognizes the top integrators with the highest sales volume of Wynright’s material handling systems. “We are honored to be recognized as a top integrator by Wynright,” said Tony Del Cid, director of applications engineering at Tompkins Solutions. “Wynright helps us achieve our goal of providing superior automated material handling solutions that enable our clients to optimize their warehouse operations and meet their long-term distribution needs.”
This year’s winners were honored at Wynright’s annual assembly and awards banquet. In addition to the awards ceremony, the assembly included business meetings for the top partners and Wynright’s management team to exchange ideas, learn about advancements in manufacturing and discuss new product releases and engineering updates.
