CITT partnerships enhance sustainability and women in the industry

CITT announced a pair of partnerships this past month, one with Green Freight Assessments and most recently with Netwomen.

Green Freight Assessments is an organization that specializes in helping companies access and deploy government funding for sustainability transformation.

“ESG has become an important focus for the industry and for CITT in recent years,” said Pina Melchionna, president and CEO of CITT. “While many in the business acknowledge the importance of sustainability, they often face hurdles in accessing available funding. There are also knowledge gaps about what the funding can be used for and how to deploy it.

“Green Freight Assessments have identified that there are major opportunities to advance sustainability that aren’t being taken advantage of. There’s $250,000 per fleet, per year for this type of project, which can go a long way with the right guidance. We hope the industry looks into this opportunity as part of our collective goal of a more sustainable transportation sector.”

Green Freight Assessments said that by partnering with CITT, it aligns itself with a network that values cooperation and innovation.

“We at Green Freight Assessments specialize in helping fleets reduce fuel usage by sourcing cutting-edge equipment and government grant funding to finance sustainability transformation projects,” the company said in a statement. “With the federal government providing up to $250,000 in funding per fleet, per year for this type of activity, the time to act is now. Our goal is to support fleets in reducing their environmental impact by leveraging this funding, while also enhancing their operational efficiency. Cleaner, more efficient logistics systems not only support the growth of the Canadian economy, but the preservation of our environment.”

The program is running for a limited time only and funds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Companies that are interested in this opportunity can begin the eligibility assessment process by clicking here and filling out the form at the bottom of the page.

Netwomen is a collaborative community for professional women. In addition to individual membership in their network, Netwomen offers group and one-on-one coaching, including coaching tailored specifically for women in the transportation industry.

As part of the partnership, women who are members of CITT are entitled to a discount on individual memberships to Netwomen.

“CITT is very excited to be partnering with Netwomen to make their services, resources, and coaching available to the women of CITT’s membership,” said Melchionna. “Equity and inclusion in the industry has become a major priority for CITT. Our membership is aligned too, creating networking groups such as our Women in Logistics Network. Netwomen’s vision of empowering women in business and working to break the glass ceiling is close to my heart as well. We look forward to continuing this important work and connecting our community to Netwomen’s community and coaches.”

Pinky Ghadiali, CEO of Netwomen added that, “Netwomen is delighted to be partnered with CITT, which aligns with our mission ‘Create Equity celebrate equality’ by elevating and retaining female talent and 50:50 leadership through professional development, training and community building.”
