Descartes Systems Group has acquired Tai, a California‑based provider of AI‑enabled transportation‑management software for freight brokers, in a US$100 million deal.
Tai’s is a platform for freight brokers, managing quoting, carrier sourcing, load execution, billing and customer communication across truckload, less‑than‑truckload, drayage and cross‑border shipments.
Descartes says the system helps brokers automate routine work and make faster decisions in today’s complex markets.
“The acquisition expands our transportation management capabilities for freight brokers and adds valuable transaction, carrier and shipment execution data to the Descartes Global Logistics Network,” said Andrew Wimer, associate general manager for transportation management at Descartes.
CEO Edward J. Ryan said Tai’s AI‑driven tools complement Descartes’ strengths in carrier onboarding, compliance, fraud prevention and real‑time visibility.
“By combining our solutions, we see a significant opportunity to help freight brokers navigate change, streamline freight execution, improve operating margins, strengthen customer and carrier relationships, and support digital transformation,” he said.
