Seafrigo
Seafrigo Group will open a new dedicated facility in New Jersey in 2022. As an approved inspection center at the Port of NY/NJ with four facilities, it is able to partially or totally manage shipments across a range of different services including drayage to or from the port,chilled, frozen and ambient storage, USDA-requested lab tests, special labelling for different foreign languages and repacking to ensure freight is secure for export. The new 85,000-sq-foot facility will provide additional, fully automated capacity, with dry ice production on site.
Hydrobuilder Holdings
Hydrobuilder Holdings LLC has added New England Hydroponics (NE Hydro) to its assets, bringing its number of physical retail locations to 22 and its number of warehouse locations to nine. Founded in 2002 by Ethan Holmes as an online retailer, New England Hydroponics has since grown to five retail locations and one warehouse location in each of Massachusetts and Maine. Hydrobuilder also recently completed its relocation of Elevated Equipment Supply’s flagship Los Angeles location to its new purpose-built warehouse in Los Angeles. It offers 85,000 square feet of high pile storage, an increase of 25,000 square feet from its legacy 60,000 square foot facility.
Rhenus
Rhenus Logistics has opened its first AMR-operated warehouse in Hong Kong. Rhenus Hong Kong will adopt robotics and AI from Geek+ in a proof-of-concept warehousing project. With Geek+goods-to-person robots, Rhenus Hong Kong can handle large volumes of orders, adjust to meet rapidly changing SKUs, and improve order-fulfilment. More than 2,000 SKUs of cosmetic products are constantly arranged according to popularity and expiry date. The Hong Kong site will be the first smart Rhenus warehouse in the Asia-Pacific.
Logistics Property Company
Logistics Property Company, LLC (LPC) has bought a 67-acre parcel in York, Pennsylvania. The property will be developed into an 800,000-square-foot logistics park comprising two logistics facilities. Phase I is a 650,000-square-foot building with 36-foot clear height to be ready in late 2022; and Phase II is a 150,000-square-foot building delivering in early 2023. The location offers truck access to major highways including Interstate 83, the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 76), Interstate 81, and Interstate 95. It offers one-day delivery to 60 percent of the US population and 40 percent of the Canadian population, as well as last-touch access to Philadelphia and the Baltimore/Washington submarkets.
