
Mississauga, Ontario—Kuehne + Nagel broke ground on its new pharmaceutical/healthcare logistics centre in Mississauga.
The ceremony was attended by Bonnie Crombie, Mayor of Mississauga; Philip King, President of Orlando Corporation; Bob Mihok, President and CEO of Kuehne + Nagel North America; Jamie Wood, President of Kuehne + Nagel Canada and Kuehne + Nagel local executives and staff.
Located at 6280 Millcreek Drive, the new facility will be Kuehne + Nagel’s third building on the former site of the old Streetsville Quarry. The company plans to have the distribution centre fully operating by August 2017.
This latest pharmaceutical and medical device grade warehouse is designed to capture innovations within the industry while keeping an eye on the environmental impact.
The 203,800 square-foot facility will be temperature and humidity controlled, as well as licensed and qualified to Health Canada standards including:
- Ambient storage: between 15ºC to 25ºC
- Less than 60% relative humidity
- 10,000 sq. ft. 2ºC to 8ºC cooler fully racked with 30 ft. height
- Live temperature and humidity monitoring systems
- CCTV security features
- Motion sensor LED lighting
- Digitally controlled HVAC system
- Grey-water landscaping irrigation system
