TORONTO, Ontario— Toronto police say they’ve found two more caches of toys stolen from a Salvation Army warehouse in the city.
Police say a total of 122 storage bins containing $24,000 worth of toys donated to the charity were recovered yesterday in two locations in Toronto’s north end.
They’re the fourth and fifth discoveries of allegedly stolen donations uncovered by police since they began their probe into the reported theft, which police and the charity have estimated at about $2 million.
Police this week charged two men in connection with the investigation.
Former Salvation Army warehouse executive director David Rennie was charged Monday with more than 30 offences including possession of property obtained by crime, theft over $5,000 and criminal breach of trust.
Umaish Ramrattan, 61, of Ajax was charged yesterday with 40 counts, including several counts of theft and possession of stolen property
Both men are scheduled to appear in court on January , 2013.
