DSV Global Transport and Logistics has become Etihad Cargo‘s first partner to purchase sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to offset the carbon emissions of a cargo shipment. Etihad Cargo facilitated DSV’s SAF purchase, enabling the transport and logistics provider to offset CO2 emissions and reduce non-CO2 climate impact. Etihad Cargo transported DSV’s cargo from Washington Dulles to Abu Dhabi on Etihad’s first transatlantic NetZero flight on 13 November.
UPS has acquired Bomi Group, a multi-national healthcare logistics provider. Through the acquisition, the company’s healthcare unit, UPS Healthcare, will add temperature-controlled facilities in 14 countries, and 3,000 employees to its team across Europe and Latin America. The company will operate under the new name Bomi Group, a UPS Company. Bomi Group CEO Marco Ruini will join the UPS Healthcare leadership team. UPS Healthcare customers now have access to 216 facilities with a total of 17 million square feet of cGMP and GDP-compliant healthcare distribution space in 37 countries and territories.
Carrier Transicold recently manufactured 1,750 PrimeLINE and EverFRESH 40-foot high-cube refrigeration units for Pacific International Lines (PIL), a Singapore-based shipping company, ranked 12th among the world’s top container shipping lines. The new containers will expand PIL’s refrigerated shipping capabilities. An additional feature that will be provided to new and existing EverFRESH customers besides the existing Carrier Transicold support hotline is the 24/7 EverFRESH Technical Online Support.
The Volvo Group and Pilot Company have signed a Letter of Intent for the development of public, high-performing charging infrastructure for medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles. The partners intend to enter a strategic partnership that will combine the Volvo Group’s experience in medium- and heavy-duty battery-electric trucks and charging solutions with Pilot Company’s extensive network of more than 750 Pilot and Flying J locations across North America to install charging infrastructure. Pilot Company intends to install high-performance charging infrastructure at selected Pilot and Flying J travel centers across the U.S. and will be open to medium- and heavy-duty vehicles of all brands.
