Arctic Glacier & Descartes

Arctic Glacier is using Descartes’ strategic route planning solution to optimize ice distribution from over 100 facilities and 1,000 vehicles to 75,000 customer locations across the U.S. and Canada. “To minimize our operating costs, we need to reset our network multiple times annually because of large demand fluctuations and our aggressive, acquisition-driven growth strategy,” said Elizabeth DiFazio, director, routing and order scheduling at Arctic Glacier. “The Descartes solution allows us to quickly execute network reroutes, which helps us capture fuel, labour and equipment savings, cost-effectively fold acquisitions into our network and increase delivery productivity in the peak summer season.”

TCO & Nulogy

Cimcorp has automated the fulfillment of fresh produce at REWE Group, a German food retailer. Cimcorp’s intralogistics automation provides order picking for fresh products, such as fruit and vegetables, stored in plastic crates. The automation eliminates the physical strain that comes with handling heavy items in manual warehouse operations. “In addition to increased productivity and efficiency, Cimcorp’s fresh food solution offers a variety of other benefits, such as high levels of hygiene and fuller trucks,” said Riku Puska, sales manager, W&D industry sales for Cimcorp Group. “The open-floor design with no racking leads to easier cleaning and maintenance. Optimized truck loading results in less traffic and consequently reduces environmental impact.”
