Titanium & B&S Cartage

Titanium Transportation Group Inc. has bought Bert and Son’s Cartage Limited (B&S Cartage), based in Brantford, Ontario. B&S Cartage’s facilities, including a warehouse and approximately 3.2 hectares of land, are less than two kilometres from Titanium’s existing Brantford terminal. B&S Cartage has been family operated in Brantford for the last 75 years, specializing in truckload, warehousing, distribution, and specialized logistics solutions within Ontario, and across the U.S. border. B&S Cartage brings approximately 40 drivers and staff to Titanium. Darin DeRosse and Michelle DeRosse, third generation owner-operators, will join the Titanium management team.

Bison & Hartt Transportation

Bison Transport has bought Hartt Transportation Systems, a Bangor, Maine-based fleet with more than 360 tractors and 2,100 trailers. The deals is Bison’s first major acquisition since it was taken over in January 2021 by James Richardson & Sons (JRSL). The deal with Hartt closed December 31. Hartt is one of the largest truckload carriers in the Northeastern U.S. Founded in 1948, it has been a family-run company until now.

Ryder & Midwest

Ryder System, Inc., has acquired Midwest Warehouse & Distribution System (Midwest), a provider of warehousing, distribution, and transportation solutions. The acquisition adds nine multi-client and eight dedicated-customer warehouses in five regions, mostly in the greater Chicago area, and also in New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas. It serves food, beverage, and consumer packaged goods customers. Midwest’s warehouse space totals approximately seven million square feet and is supported by a company-owned fleet of trucks. Ryder will integrate Midwest’s facilities and operations into its CPG business, retain Midwest’s executive team, and continue operations with the company’s workforce.

Blume & LiveSource

Blume Global has acquired LiveSource. LiveSource, which has offices in North America, Europe and Asia, provides sourcing and procurement technology to the automotive and manufacturing sectors. As of January 1, all LiveSource employees are part of Blume Global. The deal will give LiveSource customers access to Blume’s logistics execution technology and supply chain management expertise. Blume will incorporate LiveSource subsidiaries in Switzerland and France. LiveSource operations in the U.S. and Europe will maintain their ISO 27001 certification and GDPR compliance.
