Done Deals: March 27, 2020

Delmar International Inc. has acquired Rotra, LLC (and Rotra Brokerage Services, Inc.). Established in 1984, Rotra is a light asset logistics company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with offices in the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden, offering international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and warehousing and distribution services. Rotra serves North American and European importers and exporters, with a range of logistics services specializing in the transatlantic trade. The transaction raises the capabilities and size of Delmar’s USA footprint and workforce, which now exceeds two hundred employees, and operates from coast to coast with seven branches throughout the United States.

Duravant LLC, which makes equipment and automation solutions for the food processing, packaging and material handling sectors, has acquired Woodside Electronics Corporation (WECO), a manufacturer of optical colour and defect sorting equipment. With headquarters in Woodland, California, WECO designs, builds and services intelligent optical colour and defect sorting systems and moisture monitoring systems.

FOG Software Group, a division of Vela Software, and Constellation Software, Inc. has acquired ProShip, Inc. from Quadient, formerly Neopost. Brookfield, WI-based ProShip provides enterprise parcel shipping solutions. Their customers include 25 percent of the National Retail Federation’s top 100 retailers who ship parcels, plus manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics companies. ProShip will operate as an independent division of FOG Software Group.

Locus Robotics has a new international client, CEVA Logistics, an asset-light supply chain management company. CEVA has deployed autonomous mobile robots from Locus at its Roosendaal, Netherlands location to handle online order fulfillment for their retail partner selling household and consumer goods. Since launching the Locus solution in January 2020, CEVA is already closing in on a million units picked. Locus has helped to dramatically increase worker productivity and improve the overall workplace quality.

CRST International Inc. has acquired NAL Group, headquartered in Edison, New Jersey. Privately held NAL Group is a final mile logistics company, serving the U.S. and Canada. NAL Group specializes in warehousing services, home delivery of big and bulky consumer durables, complex in-home installation and assembly services and express courier services. NAL Group’s customers are predominately high-profile retailers, most notably delivering, installing and/or assembling items such as furniture, appliances, exercise equipment and electronics.  Matt Riordan, previous president and CEO of NAL Group, will continue overseeing sales and operations.
