CITT – Canada’s Logistics Association – is partnering with the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba, which has two programs recognized for advanced standing toward the CITT-Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) designation.
Though this new agreement, graduates of both the Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Supply Chain Management and Logistics programs at the Asper School of Business can access two fast tracks to earn the CCLP designation, with the option to proceed directly to the challenge exam once they have at least three years of experience working in the industry, or with 50 per cent credit equivalency toward earning the designation through the CCLP program of study.
Students also have the option to join CITT as affiliate members until they meet the requirements to become certified members.
“The University of Manitoba is actually one of CITT’s longest standing relationships, dating back to the days of the Transport Institute’s Certificate in Logistics program,” said Pina Melchionna, CITT’s president and CEO. “Now, we’re excited to partner once again with an advanced standing agreement that brings even more value to graduates and alumni of both the BCOMM and MSCM programs at the Asper School of Business. Winnipeg is a large and important Canadian logistics hub – it’s so critical that we all work together to graduate talent to help with the labour shortage in this vital industry, both in the province of Manitoba, and nationally.”
“The Asper School of Business continues to work to equip our students with everything they need to succeed in their careers. Our logistics and supply chain students acquire the competences and skills required by the industry and our graduates have been serving the logistics, transportation and supply chain sectors in Manitoba and Canada for many decades,” added Bruno Silvestre, Dean I.H. Asper School of Business. “This partnership with Canada’s Logistics Association is a testament of that and provides an additional career path to our Asper graduates to continue to transform the business landscape and make an impact in society.”
