Menlo nabs auto parts deal in Mexico
Mexican automotive parts manufacturer Dana México Corporacion S de RL de CV has hired Menlo Worldwide Logistics to provide transportation management services. Menlo will manage the company’s intra-Mexico freight movements and cross-border transportation of inbound and outbound components and finished goods to customers in Canada and the US, and will also provide logistics cost analysis. A Menlo team will be located on-site at Dana México’s Queretaro manufacturing facility, complemented by a small freight audit team at Menlo’s supply chain office in Guadalajara.

Lufthansa adds African destinations
In co-operation with Kenyan cargo carrier Astral Aviation, Lufthansa Cargo now flies to seven new destinations in Africa. Using its MD11 freighters, Lufthansa flies cargo to Nairobi, Kenya, where it is offloaded onto Astral Aviation planes and distributed to seven destinations in four countries: Bujumbura in Burundi; Dar Es Salaam, Mwanza and Zanzibar in Tanzania; Entebbe and Kigali in Uganda; and Juba in Sudan.

DHL expands in Poland
DHL Poland has opened a new terminal in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland. The facility is equipped with modern processing equipment that falls in line with the company’s GoGreen environmental strategy. In the past two years, the shipments in the western region of Poland, where Gorzów Wielkopolski is located, have increased by more than 60 percent.
