Pallet company merger

WEIRA, Germany—Two European plastic pallet manufacturers have decided to merge.

The two companies are CABKA GmbH, based in Germany and Innova Packaging Systems NV from Belgium. Together they will be known as CABKA Group.

For now, each of the individual CABKA and IPS labels will continue to exist, but the new company plans to eventually produce a joint brand. Company officials say the merger will add complementary product lines together as CABKA, which has a presence in the North American market, specializes in one-way pallets for export and IPS concentrates on multi-way pallets.

“We want to organically grow together by way of a strong range and continuous innovation-based expansion,” said Gat Ramon said, director and management spokesperson of the new CABKA Group. “For example, we are going to set up a production line complete with recycling plant for mixed plastics in the vicinity of Ypres, Belgium.”

All CABKA and IPS staff—a total of 390—will be retained.
