Electra.aero, Inc. has appointed Alejandra Uranga as chief engineer, research and future concepts, and Tom Clancy as a member of the Electra Board.
Uranga joins Electra from the University of Southern California (USC) Viterbi School of Engineering, where she led the Aerodynamic Research and Design Laboratory at the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. Earlier, she was technology lead in the NASA N+3 program that developed and tested the D8 Double-Bubble aircraft. She earned a Master of Applied Sciences in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Victoria, BC, and a PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT.
Clancy brings nearly four decades of experience in unique and high-performance aircraft development to his appointment to Electra’s Board. Most recently he was chief technology officer at Aurora Flight Sciences. Earlier at Aurora, Clancy was vice-president of development programs. Previously he was VP of engineering and VP for Aurora’s NASA ERAST programs. He was also project manager and chief engineer for the Perseus high-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) development programs, and served as chief engineer and flight director on multiple UAV programs. Clancy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT and is a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
Identco – a manufacturer of labeling solutions for the power equipment, electronics, transportation, and general industrial sector – has hired Brian Kady as vice-president of global sales. Most recently, Kady served as vice-president of sales at Pregis Polymask. Before that, he worked with both Avery and 3M. He also served as director of sales – performance adhesives group for Ohio-based Mactac.
Motion Industries, Inc. has named Mike Esposito to group vice-president, Motion Automation Intelligence. Most recently, Esposito served as director of Motion Automation Intelligence’s Engineering Assembly Solutions (EAS), having joined Motion as part of the Kaman Distribution Group (including Kaman Automation) acquisition. Before joining Motion/KDG, he held senior management roles at iAutomation, CDF Corporation, and SencorpWhite. Esposito is a graduate of Bridgewater State College with a Master of Science in Technology
Management.
