Joseph Cappello has been appointed president of Nikola Energy, the energy supply and infrastructure division of EV manufacturer Nikola Corporation. Cappello joins Nikola following a five-year tenure at Iwatani Corporation of America where he was appointed executive advisor in 2018, before assuming the roles of chairman and CEO in 2019. Cappello began his career as a sell-side chemical analyst on Wall Street before joining Praxair, now Linde, where he held roles of increasing responsibility over a 15-year period.
After nearly eight years at the helm of the Eno Center for Transportation, Robert Puentes is stepping down as president/CEO. During his tenure, Eno expanded its work across all modes of transportation policy and practice, launched new professional development programs, and provided valuable leadership and education through the COVID-19 pandemic. Puentes became the ninth President/CEO of Eno in April 2016. Since then, he led the creation of the organization’s new strategic plan, developed a strong bench of capable and talented staff, expanded funding to ensure the financial stability and longevity of the organization, and established myriad new research initiatives, leadership programs, and institutional partnerships.
Tecsys shareholders elected six directors to the board. David Brereton, Peter Brereton, David Booth, Vernon Lobo, Kathleen Miller and Steve Sasser all received a majority of the votes cast.
The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has appointed Mike Jones as policy advisor on environmental issues. Jones started his career in freight forwarding in 1977 when he joined Pandair Freight Ltd as a break bulk & transhipment clerk and undertook a number of managerial roles following the acquisition of Pandair by Air Express International. In 1998, he moved to Hitachi’s transport division, followed by a promotion to general manager. In 2011, he started work at London Underground as logistics manager for Track & Signals. He joined BIFA in 2015 as policy and compliance advisor to look after issues related to air, aviation security and dangerous goods; before becoming BIFA’s regional representative for London West & the South West in 2019.
