Volta Trucks has appointed Karl Viktor Schaller to its board of directors. Between 2014 and 2019, he was executive vice-president, motorcycle engineering with BMW AG. Before joining BMW, he was a member of the executive board and chief technology officer of MAN Truck and Bus, with responsibility for engineering and purchasing. Previously, Schaller was director of the heavy trucks business unit at MAN. He is currently an Honorary Professor at the Technical University of Munich. He holds a diploma and a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Munich, and was made an honorary professor in 2007. He serves on the board of Westport Fuel Systems Inc. in Canada.
ASL Aviation Holdings has appointed of Eric Vincent as managing director, ASL Airlines France. Vincent has been director of sales and programme in ASL Airlines France, and a member of the airline’s executive management team since 2009. Since then, he has been responsible for the airline’s cargo and passenger sales and marketing, flight scheduling and sales administration. After graduating from Reims Management School (now NEOMA Business School) in France and Middlesex University in the UK, Vincent worked for La Poste Group in France before being seconded to the French postal service’s airline, L’Aéropostale, which subsequently became Europe Airpost and later ASL Airlines France. He went on to spend 10 years at GeoPost/DPDgroup where he was managing director of GeoPost business units in Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece.
Harbinger, a Los Angeles-based automotive manufacturer, has hired Gilbert Passin as chief production officer (CPO). For nearly a decade, Passin served as Tesla’s vice-president of manufacturing, overseeing the launch of Tesla’s Model S program, leading the initial ramp-up of the Tesla Fremont factory, and serving as chief architect for the initial expansion of Tesla’s worldwide manufacturing operations in China, Europe, and North America. Passin also held prior VP and GM-level roles with Toyota, Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks, and Renault, and most recently served as CEO and COO of Wrightspeed.
