Sébastien Martel is joining the board of directors of TFI International Inc. Martel was the chief financial officer of BRP Inc. He was with BRP for nearly 20 years, servingas CFO since 2014. A registered CPA, Martel holds a bachelor degree in accountancy from McGill University.

DP World

DP World has appointed Douglas Smith as CEO of DP World’s operations in Canada. Smith replaces Maksim Mihic, who will be assuming a new role as senior vice-president, global operations and engineering, ports and terminals for DP World in Dubai, UAE. Under Mihic’s leadership, DP World grew from a single container terminal (DP World Vancouver) to the largest operator in Canada, with a total of five terminal locations. Smith brings almost 30 years of industry expertise. He began his career with Sealand Service, Inc. and has held key positions at Maersk, APM Terminals, and Global Ports Management, which have taken him to 17 different locations across six countries and three continents. Most recently, he served as joint president and CEO of Mundra and Tuna Ports at Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone in Mundra, India. Smith holds an MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He was honourably discharged as Lieutenant Commander with the United States Naval Reserve in 2009.

Cesar Jiminez

Toyota Material Handling (TMH)has promoted Cesar Jimenez to vice-president of regulatory affairs, product planning, and product assurance. Jimenez began his career at Toyota as a college intern in the summer of 1996. Over the last 27 years, he has worked in various capacities, including product planning engineer, product marketing manager, and joined the Toyota executive team in 2015. Jimenez is a respected leader in the material handling industry. As a member of the Industrial Truck Association for over 10 years, Jimenez has served as the vice-chair and chair for both the Energy Storage Systems Subcommittee and the General Engineering Committee, which works on industrial truck performance oriented safety standards and supplies which is provided to national safety organizations.
